LIFE SKILLS COACH
The Life Skills Coach does exactly that - coach adults on life skills. We work with adults with developmental disabilities who live independently and wish to be more independent.

The Life Skills Coach (LSC) will assist the client with learning daily skills such as menu planning, grocery shopping and cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and using public transportation.

The LSC will assist the consumer with medical and dental appointments. The LSC will assist the consumer with transportation when working on individual service plan objectives and services.

Auburn, CA (Part Time)

Monday thru Thursday evenings 4 pm to 11 pm
IHSS* Monday thru Thursday Overnights 11pm to 8am

We are looking for compassionate individuals to assist providing full care support in Auburn

Pay Range:
$19-20/hour depending on experience._

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least 1 year experience in caregiving, education, or working/volunteering with people with disabilities or equivalent education. Must be able to work with and support people who have disabilities.

HIRING CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Must be CPR Certified or willing to become certified
Must show evidence of a negative TB test within the last year (or get one).
Ability to pass drug screen at the request of New Start.
Must be able to pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprint background check.
Possession and proof of a valid California Drivers License, vehicle insurance, a good driving record, and willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment (should driving clients be required)
IHSS Shifts: Must be certified with IHSS Placer County or willing to become certified as part of the hiring process.

*IHSS shifts are not employed by New Start SLS. Work directly for the client and Placer County. Pay for IHSS shifts determined by County IHSS.
