We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of
Advisor
Commercial Strategy within our
Supply Chain Commodities and Material Management team based in
Houston, TX.

This role specifically performs the category management role for Specialty and Commodity Chemicals for U.S. Onshore assets. Company headquarters are located in Greenway Plaza in
Houston, TX.


Essential Job Duties:


  • Driving the collaboration efforts with business and functional leadership in establishing and executing Specialty and Commodity Chemical sourcing & value creation strategies.
  • Category Manager for Specialty and Commodity Chemical contracts and corresponding Procurement Strategies for domestic oil and gas assets. Contract management responsibilities include executing new contracts, term extensions, commercial amendments and terminating nonutilized contracts.
  • Preparing, submitting and negotiating with Legal's support the contract terms and conditions (master service agreements, commercial terms, and purchase orders, etc.)
  • Prequalifying new and requalify existing Suppliers, while assuring full compliance with the HES Contractor Safety Program
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders on strategy, policies/procedures, guidelines, and processes as it relates to Chemicals.
  • Works closely with the Chemcial Management Specialist team on optimization programs and new chemistry trials.
  • Maintaining lines of regular communications with vendors within the Chemical category to determine availability, competencies, and cost competitiveness.
  • Managing key suppliers by evaluating performance which includes monthly/quarterly business reviews and vendor KPI tracking.
  • Working in multiple ERP Systems modules (Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Supplier Registration, Sourcing Strategy, Contract Development and implementation, Supplier Performance and Contract Close out)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
  • Years of Experience 7+
  • Strong knowledge of procure to pay process, contract management best practices, supplier vetting, sourcing strategy implementation, commercial analysis, and negotiations
  • Strong contract analysis, drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate thoughts in a clear, concise, coherent manner
  • Excellent proficiency in time management skills, highly organized, and detailed oriented
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong crossfunctional communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, decisiveness, and sound judgment
  • Must be comfortable with change in all its facet and be to help assist others through change

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes (preferred).


  • Systems

  • SAP, Ariba, Spotfire, Power BI


  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Especially Excel
  • Strong experience managing relationships with Commodities Providers
  • Comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge with Oil and Gas Specialty/Production and Commodity Chemicals
