- Clinical Service Delivery
- Supervises program leader with emphasis on program-specific models of care, coordination of care between programs, and
- Assures quality, safety and regulatory compliance in all program
- Administrative and Financial Oversight
- Oversees Division finances, including working with individual program, McLean, and MGB leadership on budget planning, execution, and monitoring, using and/or creating metrics/reports.
- Creates a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Empowers program leadership.
- Fosters and coordinates effective communication and collaborative problem-solving across program leadership to successfully address operational issues and achieve success.
- Regulatory Compliance and Quality Management
- Leads efforts to assure that all Division programs and schools meet all local, state, and federal laws, and other regulatory requirements, including the Joint Commission, Department of Mental Health, and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Collaborates with the Chief of Child Psychiatry to create and monitor quality improvement processes, including patient care metrics and process/incident review teams to assure patient safety, high quality clinical care, and effective leadership/administration.
- Human Resource
- Creates and motivates a high-performance environment emphasizing patient-centered care, and respectful interpersonal interactions between all people.
- Leads the recruitment and retention of Division personnel.
- Assures professional development is central to colleague engagement, including completion of annual educational requirements and licensure.
- Planning and Program Development
- Collaborates with the Chief to develop division-specific initiatives that achieve McLean Hospital and MGB enterprise objectives.
- Participates in planning and analysis related to market demand, financial outcome, facility needs, and regulatory requirements.
- Information Technology
- Leads Division adoption of new technologie
- Monitors performance of implementation and serves as liaison to other McLean Hospital or MGB personnel for problem resolution.
- Facilities Management
- Primary liaison with Facilities around managing physical space.
- Participates in planning/assessment for new space needs.
- Master's degree in public health, business administration or a related field preferred
- Independent licensure as a mental health clinician (psychologist, physician, advanced practice nurse, or social work) required.
- Minimum 5 years management experience leading pediatric programs in large, complex healthcare organizations.

General Summary/Overview Statement
The Director of Clinical Operations is a clinician executive who provides leadership and management of the clinical, administrative and business functions of the McLean Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry-a multi-site Division including programs in Belmont, Arlington, Cambridge, and Middleborough Massachusetts that is consistently ranked among the top psychiatric programs in the U.S.The Director's operational leadership includes oversight of financial, regulatory, quality, human resources, and facilities-to achieve McLean Hospital and Mass General Brigham (MGB) goals and priorities.
The Director directly supervises senior clinicians who lead the division's clinical programs, consulting on matters related to program-specific service delivery models, coordination of care between programs, and challenging clinical situations to assure safety and regulatory compliance.
The Director reports to, and collaborates with, the McLean Chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, on matters related to clinical services as well as new business development, marketing, and planning for the new McLean Child Campus in Belmont MA.
The ideal candidate will harness their engaging and energetic team-oriented collaborative leadership skills and expertise to help bring out the best in people and processes, to ensure the programs in McLean's Child and Adolescent Division provide high quality patient care, training, and research.
