Summary

Under the direction of the department manager and in collaboration with the Perioperative Services Leadership, responsible for the planning, ordering, special order inventory management, documentation and patient charge reconciliation for the clinical record of care.

Responsible for strict adherence to all clinical, regulatory and industry standards for inventory, prioritization, maintenance, documentation, sterilization of all surgical instrumentation and equipment while aiding in and reducing the risk of surgical site infections.

Education
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent GED.

Licensure/Certification

Must achieve certification from IAHCSMM as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within two years from date of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.

Current co-workers as of 8/2/17 will have until 8/2/19 to obtain CRCST and maintain certification throughout employment.

Experience
One-year minimum experience as a CST or CRCST preferred. Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
