The Institute for Energy Research seeks a policy associate to support IER's policy team and its research and policy activities.

We are a small but energetic think tank that researches, educates, and advocates on free market energy policy.

We play a key role in injecting a free market, consumer-first outlook into energy policy discussions (and work to fight lunacy no matter what form it takes).

We know that affordable, reliable energy is the "master resource" that makes modern life possible, which is why we support public policies that embrace energy freedom and help unleash human prosperity in the U.S.

and around the world.
That's where you come in. We're seeking an organized and professional Koch Associate who will play an integral role research and policy activities.

Policy Associate Responsibilities:
Providing research support to the IER policy team
Creating timely policy content—such as policy briefs, regulatory/legislative analyses, commentaries, and blog posts
Conducting analysis to support IER research and publications
Tracking and reviewing regulatory/legislative proposals
Assisting with presentations
Watching or attending Congressional testimony and other proceedings

Qualifications:
Excellent writing ability
Excellent proofreading ability
Strong analytical, research, and oral communications skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain focus when dealing with data and records
Knowledge of energy policy
Passion for free market solutions to the world's problems
Optimism about the human condition
Outstanding attention to detail
Sound judgment on IER's voice
Creative thinking
A team-player attitude

Preferredcandidates should have background knowledge of free-market economic principles and an interest in the fields of public choice, law and economics, and property rights economics.
