Description
Tasks and Training
As a Pharmaceutical-technical assistant, also known as PTA, you provide competent advice to people on everyday health questions.

As you mainly work in the pharmacy, you dispense prescription drugs and inform patients about side effects or other special considerations when taking medication.

For those suffering from migraines, you recommend a well-tolerated pain reliever, and for the family father, you show what should be included in the home and travel pharmacy.

For customers who cannot tolerate certain ingredients, you prepare special ointments, capsules, or teas in the laboratory.

Your expert advice is also sought after when it comes to general well-being.

You give tips on weight loss and diet products, tailor compression stockings, recommend suitable cosmetics for skin problems, or explain to diabetics how the blood sugar meter works.

Whether in a consultation, selling medication, or in the laboratory:
PTAs are the right hand of the pharmacist, but work very independently and autonomously.

In the pharmacy, the intensive consultation of your customers is the focus. You listen very carefully so that you can correctly assess their complaints and recommend a suitable remedy or behavior.

In the laboratory, you produce medicines yourself at the request of the customer or according to a prescription, or you check the quality of medicines and starting materials.

To ensure that your patients receive their medication when they need it, you monitor the stock in the pharmacy warehouse and organize orders.
