Position Summary:


This position will provide comprehensive technical and operational support for clinical information systems, products and services, as well as perform project management and implementation activities for clinical systems.


ASSIGNMENT DUTIES:


  • Become a designated clinical super user and clinical system administrator in Dentrix and Epic
  • In collaboration with the IT Department implements clinical system related projects.
  • Prepares clinical reports on Clinical Quality Measures for Meaningful use in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Acts as a resource for clinical systems industry knowledge and other support activities.
  • Provides clinical support and maintenance activities for clinical interfaces such as lab and hospital interfaces.
  • Resolve clinical related helpdesk issues assigned in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Check daily Refill Errors received from external pharmacies and link requests to correct patient or medication.
  • Run the daily Audit Trail report of lab techs' access inside EPIC to ensure compliance with Quest contract.
  • Run the daily medication administration report (MAR) inside reporting workbench (RWB) to catch MAR's that are overdue before they expire.
  • Manage Overdue Lab Results on a daily basis by cancelling duplicates/orphan labs, researching overdue lab results and ensure results interface to correct chart.
  • Check the FTP FileZilla site on a weekly basis for Rejected Lab Results. Research each rejection, find the missing information, provide it to Quest have Quest retransmit. Following day check charts to ensure rejected labs interfaced with correct charts.
  • Reset EPIC and Dentrix usernames and passwords as needed.
  • Run productivity reports for departments each month, provide to director of department.
  • Run the Rejected Dental Claims report from FTP FileZilla site on a monthly basis and provider to dental and finance director.
  • Update OCHIN with attesting provider Meaningful Use (MU) data on a quarterly basis. Run MU reports and give to providers. Align workflows with MU requirements.
  • Build Provider Master Files (PMF) and assign security for all clinical staff. Design training curriculum and provide training for newly hired clinical staff. Provide remote access and create direct addresses for newly hired providers.
  • Create EPIC ID's for all other departments for newly hired staff.
  • Train lab techs on lab workflows.
  • Perform the departed provider process when a provider leaves the organization.
  • Install accessory hardware including front office scanners, esignature pads, cameras, medical records scanners and other.
  • Support medical records with OnBase back office scanning. Install updates to OnBase as needed.
  • Merge duplicate patient charts as needed.
  • Maintain Preference List labs, referrals, immunizations, internal formulary medications, orders/supplies and procedures.
  • Update Lot Manager with new immunizations and remove expired immunizations.
  • Maintain Fee Schedule and work with finance department to ensure all clinical fees are up to date.
  • Create and build system SmartPhrases, SmartLists and other SmartTools.
  • Add letter templates to EPIC.
  • Help troubleshoot closing encounter validation errors when providers are unable to close their encounters.
  • Acuere Administrator: create new user access and disable accounts as needed.
  • Run reports from Business Objects, Acuere and Reporting Workbench as needed.
  • Communicate system updates to clinical and dental staff. Notify of enhancement packages before they go into effect.
  • Monitor eprescribing to ensure escripts are transmitting properly. Troubleshoot and notify OCHIN if an eprescribing error arises.

Preferred Experience/ Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records system, EDR training preferred
  • Minimum one year work experience in healthcare
  • Strong knowledge base of certification requirements for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Dentists, Optometrists, Mental Health Professionals, Dental Assistant and Medical Assistants.
  • Advanced computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Crystal Reports, internet research and experience working with EMR/EDR software.
  • Must provide proof of uptodate COVID19 vaccinations including recommended doses in the primary series AND booster dose when eligible.
