We have a current need for a Seasonal Welding Inspector based in the Austin, TX area.Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct pipeline and gas distribution field activities performed by contracted company personnel ensuring that federal laws and construction standards, company and safety policies, and regulatory requirements are met
- Perform quality control checks on work being performed by contracted crews to evaluate and ensure code compliance
- Record accurate records of work performed by contracted company personnel from safety and efficiency perspectives
- Conduct daily safety inspections to ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA standards
- Maintain pipe stencil information including wall thickness, grade and heat numbers
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience in the utility or pipeline industries or related industry
- 1 year coating experience
- Must have reliable transportation for fieldwork or site visits in Austin, TX
- AWS CWI or CPWI certification
- API 1169 certification preferred, but not required
- Comfortable working a minimum of 5, 10hour days
