    What You'll Do

    Avalara is hiring a Senior Program Manager to join our Corporate Program Management Office (PMO). The Corporate PMO leads programs shaped around our most strategic growth and efficiency projects. Our program are recognized for their judicious structure, ownership, and ability to guide clarity and understanding while guarding results.

The Senior Program Manager position offers potential for career advancement, providing invaluable exposure to leaders, Operations, Business Development, M&A, Product, and Strategic Planning.

    This role is instrumental in helping Avalara achieve its strategic goals. It will be high visibility, and high impact. We're looking for business leaders who can align teams to common missions, resolve blockers, develop recommendations that accomplish measurable outcomes and results. #LI-remote

    What You'll Need to be Successful

    Responsibilities

    • Lead programs as directed by the head of the Corporate PMO
    • Work among functional leaders on cross-company programs to manage the successful implementation of projects that accelerate revenue growth and efficiency
    • You will understand and unravel programs to keep them on track
    • Navigate a fast-changing business while guarding program outcomes
    • Lead regular program 'rhythms of the business' that breakdown silos and translate into actions
    • Resolve impediments by managing escalations, trade-off decisions, and priorities
    • Implement, coordinate, and measure initiative outcomes, KPIs across all teams
    • Be a consultant and owner on several strategic projects, providing critical project management support and executive-level visibility
    • Partner with SVP and EVP sponsors of specific projects
    • Lead scoping sessions to clarify an initiatives' mission, expected outcomes, and working teams
    • Will consider remote
    Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience in program, change, or product management
    • Experience leading teams, having delivered multiple, complex projects on-budget
    • Solid project management skills, with PMP Certification encouraged
    • Experience drawing relevant insights from ambiguous data
    • Proficient in a matrixed organization
    • You will have executive presence and ability to build relationships
    • Experience with Smartsheet and Atlassian (Jira and Confluence)
    • Bachelor's Degree required
