***: The IT Technician provides
basic on-site support to the Health Center's computer workstations. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, peripheral equipment and Health Center's electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and provide user assistance to staff; and performs other related work as assigned. This is an in-office position.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
(will include, but not be limited to)

  • Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
  • Provides dependable IT support and customer service.
  • Skilled at diagnosing IT issues and utilizing all appropriate support resources.
  • Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
  • Assists TMWIHC employees with learning the various systems, I.T. Equipment, as well as Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Responsible for IT support system wide as well as providing a high level of service for user requests and ongoing IT maintenance support.
  • Participates in and maintains highlevel communication among IT and Management regarding Clinical Software and Training.
  • Participates with all information management efforts to provide integrity, security/confidentiality, and availability of TMWIHC data. Stays within HIPAA guidelines of practice.
  • Is familiar with the aims and objectives of the Health Center and express a genuine enthusiasm for its success.
  • The ability to appropriately and professionally interact with and to get along well with others is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associates Degree together with education in computer science, information technology or a related field and two years of general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience, or
    , an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must possess sufficient written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with co workers, medical professionals, vendors, and agencies in a professional manner, developing rapport and enhancing business relationships.
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Must have the ability to work in an independent and selfdirected manner and assume individual initiative. Must be willing and have the ability to accept supervision and to follow directions.
  • Must possess analytical and problem solving skills. Must have a demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and tact. Must have a general knowledge of and the ability to maintain HIPAA privacy requirements.
  • Must have a valid, current California Driver's License; a personal automobile; and personal auto insurance with $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury and $100,000 property damage, or a combined $300,000 single limit. Must have a clean driving record. Must be insurable and eligible for coverage under TMWIHC policies.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation.


This position requires walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing step stools, etc., stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 30 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones and small office machines; hearing, talking and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.


All positions require sensitivity to Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs, and ability at times to meet and deal effectively with numerous tribes and varied cultures, which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
