JOB OVERVIEW:
Vascular technologists use specialized ultrasound equipment to help doctors diagnose disorders related to a person's blood flow movement.

The word "vascular" addresses the veins, arteries and blood vessels in the human anatomy that transfer fluids especially those which carry blood.

Vascular technologists use sound and image techniques to deeply examine a patient's vascular health using their detailed eye and training to help diagnose deep vein conditions, heart disease, vascular disease, and more.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Complete Patient Exam Preparation
  • Perform Ultrasound Examinations under supervision of a physician
  • Analyze Tests Results and review images to check for quality and thoroughness
  • Provide Direct Patient Care, follow any sterilization procedures and use caution when in direct content with patients.
  • Create Reports and Treatment Plans
  • After analyzing a patient's images, prepare reports and maintain documents according to employer policies and procedures.
  • Write down findings and keep track of patients' records.
  • File changes and enter data on vascular procedures performed.

Skills:


  • Ultrasound imaging
  • Vascular technologists operate equipment to acquire diagnostic images and to conduct pertinent testing
  • Basic life support Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to show they can provide lifesaving support in a healthcare emergency


  • Data entry

  • On a daily basis, vascular technologists record results in an electronic software platform and update patient records


  • Analytical skills

  • Deductive reasoning is important for technologists to spot abnormalities that could signal unhealthy blood flow in a patient


  • Interpersonal skills

  • Vascular technologists must be able to quickly build rapport with patients to ensure a smooth and accurate encounter


  • Organizational skills

  • Physicians depend on vascular technologists to keep precise and accurate records

Job Types:
Part-time, Per diem, PRN


Pay:
$40.00 per hour
