This is a 20 hour per week position: 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday with a hybrid schedule: Monday to Wednesday in-office and remote Thursday and Friday.


Specific Responsibilities:


Financial Aid Award Processing:

  • Provide quality assurance for financial aid packages during data entry, ensure proper document workflow while initiating and assisting to resolve any issues.
  • Assist with autopackage testing for applicable programs.

Communicating Financial Aid Awards:

  • Dataenter, proof, and release all initial financial aid award notices for schools and programs served by the Chicago Office of Financial Aid.
  • Ensure all awards are released properly and are received by students.
  • Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to: backup of Administrative Assistant position as needed, including but not limited document linking and image organization and perform or assist with any special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
(Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)


  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of administrative support or other relevant experience required.
  • One year of dataentry or other relevant experience required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Collaborative and works well in a crossfunction team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
(Education and experience)


  • Successful completion of a full 4year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Prior work experience in a university setting.
  • Prior work experience with imaging system is preferred.
  • Prior work experience with Quality Assurance is preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel

Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience working with federal (Title IV) financial aid policies and procedures
  • Target hiring range for this position will be between $22.00$24.00 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data._
