    Total Loss Desk Adjuster - Nashville, United States - The General

    Description
    You will investigate and maintain total loss auto claims. Determine liability, secure information, reviews coverage, arrange appraisal, and settle claims. We are looking to fill 2 openings. You will report directly to the Total Loss Manager. Preferred candidates will have total loss experience and their claims adjuster license.

    Position Compensation Range:

    $55, $90,000.00

    Primary Accountabilities

  • You will investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties, including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, the special investigation unit, other adjusters, and public personnel.
  • You will identify complex issues and seek assistance. Handle claims on a good faith basis.
  • You will handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.
  • You will conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages, and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters.
  • You will respond to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions and closes file.
  • You will interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses.
  • You will proactively provide all parties with claim process and status as appropriate; answers questions or redirects to other areas.
  • Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • You will demonstrate experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • You will demonstrate experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.
  • You will demonstrate experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience.
  • You will have solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or other equivalent knowledge.
  • You will have solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.
  • Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%.
  • Catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • The candidate(s) selected for this role will be employed by AFICS, Inc. (American Family Insurance Claims Services, Inc.), an affiliate of American Family Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.
  • In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 4+ days per week working from home. Candidates must reside near of one of the following locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Atlanta, GA 30303; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034; Nashville, TN 37214; Atlanta, GA metro area.
