- Assists with MECCA grants and financial deliverables.
- Performs or delegates administrative support tasks, including creation, typing, and editing of programming, community initiatives, and marketing efforts.
- Purchase supplies and equipment needed for staff, programs, and volunteers.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as asked.
- Aids with coordinating MECCA community events and recruitment efforts.
- Maintains program/project records, research information and gathers and computes financial data; prepares special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries.
- An associate degree; bachelor's degree preferred.
- (3) years of program support or administrative experience in a startup setting.
- Excellent verbal, writing, computer and telephone skills, superior organizational skills, and advanced knowledge of MS Office, internet and e-mail usage are needed.
- The ability to multi-task and attention to detail is essential.
- Leadership experience within a rigorous program development role.
- Knowledge of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams, students, staff, and faculty.
- Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Records maintenance skills; familiarity with Salesforce.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced organizational, writing and editorial skills.
- Knowledge of CRM and PRM tools.

Harris-Stowe's beautiful campus is minutes from the renown Gateway Arch, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art and History Museums, Forest Park and other cultural and educational institutions. Harris-Stowe's diverse faculty and staff provide a wide range of academic programs to one of the most culturally diverse student bodies in the St. Louis region.The Minority Entrepreneurship Collaborative Center for Advancement (MECCA) at Harris-Stowe State University will be a leader in small business development, innovation, and leadership development by catering to the needs of scholars, local and regional minority entrepreneurs by providing support, education, and consulting for the small business and startup community. The mission is to serve as a hub of entrepreneurial activities to foster the growth of emerging entrepreneurs and cultivate the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders from underserved communities as future business owners. We will realize the mission by facilitating entrepreneurship curriculum, hands-on educational training, and services to complement formal classroom learning in a state-of-the-art entrepreneurship center for Harris-Stowe State University students and the community.
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Minority Entrepreneurship Collaboration Center for Advancement, the MECCA Program Coordinator manages, coordinates, and oversees MECCA programs designed for black and brown students and entrepreneurs. The MECCA Program Coordinator is expected to aid with various tasks, including but not limited to administrative tasks, monitoring budgets, scheduling, and program management. The MECCA Program Coordinator reports to the MECCA Director and the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Director.
