    Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and development of electromechanical actuators for use in the aerospace and defense markets.

    The position requires extensive understanding of the behavior of mechanical systems as well as the interaction with BLDC prime movers.

    The Sr.

    Mechanical Engineer is responsible for reviewing and interpreting customer requirements, and assessing the level of effort required to fulfill them.

    This position is also responsible for leading proposal efforts, prototype development and other New Product Introduction (NPI) activities culminating in the transition of new products into production.

    Missile Fin Control Actuation SystemsHigh Bandwidth position servos,Smart Linear actuatorsUtility ActuationCockpit ControlsEssential FunctionsProduct Life Cycle EngineeringDevelopment of new concepts and proposal solutionsUnderstanding of manufacturing and design trade-offs (practical implementation of designs)

    Development and validation of performance modelsGear-train Design and Stress Analysis based on industry standard practices Spur and Planetary gear-train design experience preferredSupport cost proposal activity including:

    Manufacturing and design cost assessmentParticipate as a member of a cross-functional project team focused on development of customer funded projects as well as IR&D projectsSupport Manufacturing fabrication and assemblySupport the creation of test procedures and test reportsSupport engineering and production Acceptance and Qualification testCreates 3D CAD models of design concepts, and develops detailed 2D drawings while working with designers.

    Perform and coordinate design analysis using ANSYS, Matlab, and other CAE toolsBusiness Development SupportTravel as required to support market development and customer needsSupport and advance relationships with our customer's engineering teamsRequired SkillsCustomer centric attitudeExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent presentation skills and presentation preparation Design reviewsMarketing presentationsEtc.

    Ability to lead effectively in a cross functional team environmentDrives for results - action orientedContinuously improves in all aspectsRequired ExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience required, in an aerospace motion control engineering and manufacturing environmentB.S., General Engineering, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering requiredNew product development experience requiredExperience as a member of a cross-functional project team focused on development of customer funded projects and/or IR&D projects required3-D CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not availableMust be able to work on U.S.
