    Transportation Specialist - Router/ Dispatcher

    8 hours per day
    5 days per week

    Salary:
    Class V starting at $23.29 per hour

    Required Experience:
    • High School graduate, some college preferred
    • 5+ years in office setting
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Very high level of computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), G-mail, web-based applications, relational databases
    • Ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment
    • Background in school bus or other transportation is preferred, mapping or dispatching experience is a plus
    • Experience with Versatrans or other routing software
    • Clean driving record
    Job summary:
    • Ensure all operations are executed in a safe and timely manner
    • Facilitate student transportation through safe, efficient bus routing
    • Utilize mainstream and specialized technology to the fullest potential
    • Uphold district programs, initiatives and mission
    • Must obtain and hold a Class B Minnesota Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
    General Tasking:
    • Provide exceptional telephone, email, and walk-in service to students, parents, teachers, administrators, out-of-district contacts and the public
    • Resolve customer issues, or refer to appropriate department or supervisor
    • Promptly and effectively communicate necessary information with students, parents, programs, schools, drivers, assistants, student services and other district personnel
    • Maintain a high level of support to bus drivers and assistants
    • Be part of a cooperative work environment that includes all Transportation Center staff
    • Inform department leads, supervisors or directors of issues and concerns
    • Drive school bus and or vans as needed
