Vassalboro Community School (Pre-K -Grade 8) is seeking a 1st grade teacher
Qualifications:
Valid Maine Teaching Certificate (K-8)
Looking for a collaborative, energetic, student-centered candidate to join our 1st grade team
Must be a team player and have a teamwork approach to learning
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students;
- Creates a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students;
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques to best meet the needs and capabilities of individuals or student groups involved;
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as needed;
- Diagnosis the learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as appropriate;
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or other appropriate area of study.
- Appropriate Department of Education Authorization
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to work with computers and other educational technologies
