Overview:

ELCO Lighting is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our team.

The Purchasing Clerk will play a crucial role in managing our procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, considering inventory levels, lead times, and budget constraints.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate prices and terms, and maintain positive relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts.
  • Conduct price comparisons, research costsaving opportunities, and recommend alternative suppliers or products to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in budget planning by providing purchasing data and cost projections, and track expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with departments such as accounting, logistics, and production to coordinate purchasing activities and support operational needs.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices to streamline purchasing procedures, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.

Qualifications:


  • College degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Clerk or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct price analysis and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor management and internal collaboration.
  • Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices are advantageous.
