The Role


The Screen-Printing Team is the heart of Supacolor and is responsible for printing the transfers that are pressed onto garments.

As a Screen Print Operator, you will be responsible for following all SOP's and procedures involved with screen printing such as startup, shut down, mixing ink, preventative maintenance, quality checks, troubleshooting, production pace, meeting tight deadlines, and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

Health and Safety


Show commitment to health and safety by actively promoting safe work practices and proactively managing hazards, while ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.


  • Setting up jobs in computer to print, along with being able to manipulate the screen to bring it into register.
  • Have the ability to know when to reject a screen to cut downtime.
  • Mixing inks
  • Screen Making & Reclaiming
  • Start up and Shutdown printing presses by removing ink and paper; cleaning parts and components; returning paper and ink to stock
  • Ensures optimal press operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturer's instructions

Maximize equipment up time

  • Preparations of all materials for next jobs
  • Material preparation including; screen, inks, digital prints, adhesive powders
  • Covering meals + breaks to ensuring maximum up time of equipment
  • Preparing and transporting screens for reclaim, includes cleaning ink and tape from screens
  • General maintenance and cleaning of machinery

Workspace Maintenance

  • Ensure that the printing area remains clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Maintain a system for efficiently storing tools, inks, and other consumables.

Teamwork

  • Contribute to a positive work environment, encourage collaboration and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate company values in everyday work and recognize others for doing the same
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships within team and cross functionally

Communications

  • Positive, open and effective communications.
  • Provide relevant and timely information so information flows seamlessly between individuals, departments & teams

The physical requirements of the role:

  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and twist throughout the working hours
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • The following specific types of vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work in moderate to loud work environment.
  • Able to work with moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic/caustic chemicals utilizing appropriate PPE

Experience, skills and abilities

  • 1 year screen printing, making and reclaiming, preferred
  • Previous experience working with an automatic or semiautomatic a plus (M&R, Tas or Sakurai).
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and color perception
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Reliable transport
