- Salary range: $70, $120,000.00The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country with a mission of combating municipal corruption. It serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, individuals and entities that receive City funds.
Within DOI's Vendor Integrity Unit, the BT-2 unit is conducting a proactive monitorship over a New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Capital Construction project.
The Roundout - West Branch Bypass Tunnel Construction & Wawarsing Repairs Project (BT-2) consists of connecting two water shafts, 700 to 900 feet in depth, to a bypass tunnel and extending the bypass tunnel approximately 2.5 miles in length to ensure the continuous delivery of clean drinking water for New Yorkers.
DOI is seeking a Director of Upstate Monitorships, who will work with the Chief Engineer to lead a team of investigators and auditors responsible for conducting fraud, corruption, and mismanagement investigations related to the BT-2 Project and other related DEP Capital Projects located in and around Marlboro, NY.
- A minimum of five years of experience leading complex investigations as an attorney, prosecutor, or investigator conducting complicated long-term investigations
Demonstrated project management experience in a mid to high-level professional position managing multiple operations, including the management and supervision of multiple stakeholders, including public agencies, consultants, social service and engineering/construction personnel.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Technological proficiency, including use of technology related to investigations and databases.
- Strong writing skills.
- Highest professional and ethical standards
Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of full-time experience in investigation, auditing, law enforcement, law security, management analysis, or in a major operational area of the agency to which the assignment is to be made; at least 18 months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative, managerial or executive capacity, and the approval of the Commissioner of Investigation; or
