Position Description:


Produce product by preparing or packaging cooked or raw product, maintaining a safety-minded attitude that sustains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.


Primary Responsibilities:

Produces product by following product process specifications and packaging requirements, may include duties such as:

  • opening cook bags, machining processes such as tenderizing, tumbling, cutting, slicing, bagging, weighing, sealing, boxing, labeling
  • Prepares product for next process by manually loading product on racks; moving racks to cook area
  • Maintains operational work flow by following procedures; advising supervisor of irregularities
  • Maintains quality standards by verifying weights, observing metal detection readouts; inspecting product throughout process
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
  • Follow established plant wide Good Manufacturing Procedures.
  • Inspect equipment and utensils for sanitary conditions. Inspect product (if direct product handler) for signs of foreign material contamination
  • Inform production supervisor or QA if any food safety issue is observed that could lead to contamination of product.

Requirements:


  • Able to speak, read and write English; preferred
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Able to work a varied schedule, overtime, and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements:


  • Able to lift pounds daily; 10% 20% of each work day
  • Push racks of products weighing up to 800 lbs, 10%20% of each work day
  • Routine shoveling, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling, 10%20% of each work day
  • Able to work in 40 to 45 degree temperature for entire work schedule
  • Able to be on feet, walking or standing for 8+hours per day
  • Able to bend and/or squat while lifting pound tubes, 10%20% of each work day

Training Period:

Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to two years
