- Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members as identified in the PCT role. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and/or other healthcare team members, as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.
- Obtains, records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR. Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.

- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse.
- This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of UPHDM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of critical nature may require and individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
- Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component.
- Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license.
- Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation
- Six months of nursing assistant experience
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.
- Ability to identify patients' needs and implement nursing care for a group of patients under the supervision of a RN/Clinical Instructor.
- Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.

2 North is a 30 bed medical-surgical unit that provides acute care services to inpatients and observation patients. The unit specializes in Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, and Abdominal Surgery. 2N also can care for patients requiring remote telemetry. Our patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult and aging adult.
