- Provide support and guidance during camps and off-site activities.
- Make copies and scan and file electronic documents.
- Act as a mentor and role model for participants grades K-12.
- Assist with activity preparation, and support students during activities.
- Help facilitate games and activities with participants.
- Inventory, store, and maintain equipment.
- Input data and information into documents as assigned.
- Perform general grounds keeping activities as assigned.
- Utilize the internet and e-mail to maintain contact with the Youth Employment Coordinator.
- Assist various Anchorage or Mat-Su camp sites to engage children in daily activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and participate in a goal setting process to determine learning objectives.
- Develop a culminating project to present to the staff during the August in-service, showcasing the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship.
- Create a digital resume and obtain three digital badges by conclusion of internship.
- Perform all duties as needed and assigned.
- Ability to effectively work indoors or outdoors in various temperatures and conditions.
- Ability to lift or push up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and twist.
- Ability to reach above and below shoulder level.
- Ability to stand on a foot stool and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to kneel, crawl, bend, and twist at the waist.
- Must be eligible and qualified Alaska Native/American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L Indian Self-Determination Act.
- Continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory report from a state and federal background check.

General Functions:
The Denelchin Lab summer internship program offers a summer opportunity for interns to acquire practical work experience by applying their knowledge, skills, and abilities in a specific area of interest. As a Denelchin Lab Intern, you'll be tasked with helping and supporting across a range of departmental programs. Throughout the summer, interns will engage in diverse duties, including tasks within the Fab Lab, participation in summer camps, and collaboration with the operations team on daily activities.
