What you'll be able to do:
Develop first principles should cost tools together with engineering to provide grounds up physics based minimum system or part cost
Enable enterprise level optimization by providing the powertrain optimization teams the above code based should cost tools to be integrated into the optimization plan
The should cost tool you create will be used as a design input and significant lever in obtaining superior commercial outcomes versus the competition.
Drive internal make vs buys studies with internal advanced manufacturing groups to ensure optimum outcomes
Understand schedule timing in great detail to enable the creation of creative commercial agreements that will help meet Ford's commercial and cost requirements for the project
Work with ADVEV GSM partners to redefine the purchasing software and tools that are used to manage suppliers, part revisions, requirements, documentation, agreements, etc.
Identify and develop key commercial partnerships throughout all necessary levels of the supply chain.
The partnerships should allow Ford to enjoy cost leadership, supply in times of raw material scarcity, geopolitical events risk mitigation, etc.
Foster a collaborative costing culture both internally with Engineering and externally with supplier partners. All stake holders should be supportive of the process and co-own delivery of cost outcomes.
Provide an expert knowledge and history of leading vendors and leading cost competitive traction motor designs and supply chains while monitoring global trends and technology roadmaps.
Preferred Requirements:
Master's Degree
Hands-on experience building and launching highly effective supply chain
methodology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are
part of a high performing team
A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive
for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
6 + years experience in supply chain management or commodity management.
Fundamental understanding of EV Powertrain concepts and commodities.
Experience bringing creative negotiation skills and out of the box strategy.
Knowledge of high-volume motor manufacturing processes, materials and supply
chains.
Strong relationship management skills with suppliers which include scorecards, issue
resolution and reviews.
