Duties:


This position is for Lodging operations with 175 to 799 rooms.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in planning, organizing, conducting, and managing a medium to large, expanded lodging housekeeping program.

Indirectly supervises a work force of employees primarily classified as Custodial Workers, NA-3566-1, and Laborers, NA through subordinate supervisors.

Formulates, implements, coordinates and controls a comprehensive lodging housekeeping program. Assists in determining long-range, intermediate, and short-range program goals and policies independently or jointly with higher management.

Assists in developing and implementing organizational structures and operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals, monitors effectiveness and efficiency of operations within the established framework, and makes adjustments as necessary.

Accountable for the quantity and quality of work performed by assigned employees to include: hires, promotes, motivates, disciplines, and separates employees. Assists in assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinates, and evaluates their work performance; approving or disapproving sick leave, annual leave or other absences from work; planning, scheduling, and coordinating work operations, solving problems related to the work supervised; determining equipment and supplies needed; and explaining and gaining the support of subordinates for management policy and goals; and for dealing effectively with employee and representatives of personnel on employee suggestions, complaints, grievances and other matters.

Assist in establishing personnel management policies for the housekeeping operation in line with the personnel policies of the AF and local lodging operations. Delegates authority to subordinate supervisors and holds them responsible for the performance of their respective organizational units.

Responsible for maintaining documentation to prepare as needed budget information on information such as, housekeeping personnel expenses, cleaning supplies, and resale sundry stock.

Develops and maintains standards for cleanliness and sanitation. Standards encompass such areas as frequency of cleaning; methods, procedures, and safety precautions to be followed; selection, measurement and proper use of housekeeping and cleaning supplies; and use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.

Monitors performance based recognition and internal special lodging awards programs for the housekeeping staff.

As required, may clean and restock lodging facilities and related areas.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a preemployment physical.

This position does not have an education qualification requirement.
