Summary:
Activity Specialist responsible for helping participants grow artistically.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for developing, teaching & maintaining scheduled Activities.
  • Responsible for helping participants in their development in the Art and Craft.
  • Organizing Arts and Crafts exhibitions.
  • Engage participants in the arts to help develop skills that would help them express themselves.
  • Develop and maintain arts, theater, music, dance and poetry, jewelry making and paper mache.
  • Organize and create art exhibitions, dance routines, theater presentations, music recitals and poetry jams.
  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of participants.
  • Maintain site bulletin boards and produce flyers for events.
  • Organize and create program performances costumes.
  • Accompany participants to art, theater, and dance related trips.
  • Maintain daily attendance for all courses.
  • Cofacilitate Parent Meetings
  • Ensure the cleanliness and presence of all of the space used by the program participant
  • Responsible for keeping the Program Director informed of any changes and abnormalities that may occur.
  • Submit weekly reports to the Program Director on a timely basis.
  • Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and special events.
  • Assist other staff when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
**Salary: $18 - $20/per hour. This is a part
- time position with approximately 20 + hours per week.**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:This is a part-time position.

Days and hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday 6pm to 10pm, & some Saturdays 12am to 5pm. 6pm - 11pm


Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED; working towards or possessing AA or BA degree a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • 1 years experience in the field and high level of knowledge in Creative Arts
  • Experience teaching or training individuals in group settings
  • Experience with lesson plan development
  • Submit to background checks in compliance with DOE, DYCD, DOH and SACC regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
  • Move for long periods, providing instruction.
  • Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, traverse city streets, ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions, while escorting youth.
