Overview

The Insurance and Follow-Up Specialist II provides timely follow-up of facility claims for all acute care based locations.

Manages assigned portion of AR and aging reports and responds to insurance company requests for information and works to identify issues.

Assists with coaching and training staff.

What you will do

  • Manages assigned portion of AR and works the aging reports.
  • Reviews accounts to ensure proper reimbursement of claims and reports any problems, issues or trends to management.
  • Researches and writes appeals to insurance companies on denied accounts. Resubmits applicable insurance claims within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Responds to insurance company requests for information. Processes insurance/patient correspondence within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Meets Productivity and QA standards set by management
  • Assists with coaching and training of staff.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, (required)
  • Bachelors Degree, Accounting, Finance or other related field (preferred)
Experience

  • 34 years Insurance Followup (required)
Licenses and Certifications

  • CRCR
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) within 1 Year(required)
