    Job Summary

    Smithers is looking for an Accounts Receivable Associate at our downtown Akron office.

    Primary responsibilities include researching projects/contracts, maintaining client files and all of the accounts receivable functions, including preparation of all Accounts Receivable invoicing, reporting and communication with department technical administrators.

    This role also functions as collection clerk for Smithers and maintains cash account balances and entries to the accounting system as well as weekly/monthly reporting to Smithers/Akron.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Prepares, enters data and reports all accounts receivable invoices.
    Communicates and collaborates with Smithers business team members (e.g. Project Management and technical administrators) to execute on invoicing and collections processes efficiently and effectively.
    Records, inputs data, and reports all payments received.
    Prepares account reconciliations and corresponding journal entries.
    Participates in monthly close, assisting Financial Business Partner, SSS Manager, and Accounting Manager with closing entries.
    Must be able to work as a team with accounting staff and other departments in a fast-paced environment.

    Prepares emails, letters, and calls for collection to delinquent clients, while always professionally representing the Smithers brand to our clients.

    Prepares/processes deposits.
    Helps prepare reconciliations for bank accounts monthly.
    Must be willing, and demonstrate the ability to cross train with Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
    Maintains client files in the Accounting office.
    Creates weekly and monthly reports for supervisor.
    Creates, updates, and maintains Account Receivable SOP's as needed.
    Assists supervisor with various duties as necessary.
    Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    5 – 7 years of experience is required
    Associates degree in related business / finance field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
    Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
    Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel is preferred (managing and interpreting data, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
