- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff on assigned shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare personnel, as appropriate.
- Conduct rounds to assess resident needs, monitor changes in condition, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and dietitians, to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Participate in resident and family meetings, providing education and support as needed.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance, feedback, and ongoing training to promote professional development.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the state board of nursing.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care (LTC) nursing.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including day (6:30am-3pm) and evening (2:45pm-11:15pm) shifts, as needed.
