Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping the success of Affinity Group? We're seeking a passionate and experienced HR Business Partner to support our growing Midwest team.

As a trusted, consultative advisor to regional leadership, you'll play a crucial part in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, fostering a culture of high performance, and driving employee engagement.

Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager, this position will be based out of our Chicago, Illinois office.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership: Be the go-to HR expert for Midwest region leadership, offering guidance and support to enhance leadership effectiveness and productivity. Manage complex employee relations issues to foster positive work relationships, maximize team performance, and increase retention.

Legal Compliance and Policies: Stay up-to-date on employment law to ensure legal compliance across all areas. Develop and communicate policies and best practices to improve work relationships, morale, and productivity.

Performance Management and Employee Relations: Provide day-to-day guidance on performance management, including coaching, talent development, and corrective actions. Conduct workplace investigations as part of employee relations duties. Ensure consistency and fairness in performance evaluations.

Talent Acquisition & Development: Guide leadership on hiring best practices and identify talent development opportunities. Monitor learning programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Workforce Planning: Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and succession planning. Anticipate talent gaps and future talent acquisition and development needs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
  • 57 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a strategic HR business partner role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, performance management, and legal compliance.
  • HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Proficiency in using HR technology platforms, including HRIS, HCM, ATS, and LMS eLearning systems (e.g., UKG, JazzHR, Cornerstone, PerformYard).

General Skills:


  • Strong understanding of employment law.
  • Experience with HR data analysis.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

What to Expect

  • Typical office hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM).
