    Job Description

    This position provides industrial automation expertise and leadership to support Select Water Solutions operations. This position will work with other Technology personnel to drive continuous improvement of Select's operations.


    The essential job functions include, but are not limited toDeveloping and designing scalable technology solutionsImplementing and maintaining automated equipmentTroubleshooting existing automated assetsTraining automation and field personnel on operating equipmentWorking across service lines for seamless automation operationsSupport the Director of Engineering regarding technological development, operations, and solutions used in the companyFunctions as PLC programmer and system expert for PLC based automation; designing, building, testing, and implementing automation solutions for Select.

    Maintains excellent written communication stakeholders about developments and plansLead testing and implementation in the field for new products and projectsMaintains and strives to improve established automated systems and installationsProvides all aspects of support and work with a professional and positive attitude.

    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks with team or independently.

    Protects operations by keeping information confidentialManages data collection infrastructure from device to PLC.Maintains workflow and programming documentation for all work by writing and updating procedures.

    Builds and maintains cause and effect matrixes for both existing and new PLC programs.

    Manages the creation and maintenance of wiring diagramsWorks with Project Managers and the application development team to create a Functional Requirements Document for new projectsUnderstands the complexities of data collection both online and offline to ensure integrity of historical data to be communicated to Ignition SCADA and front-end databases.

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:3+ years of documented PLC programming/Automated systems/SCADA integration experienceExpert understanding of industrial automation processes, including hardware software and electrical aspects of such systemsB.S.

    in Engineering or equivalent or demonstrable Engineering/PLC Programming experienceRequired Experience in the following areas:

    Industrial automated process controlPLC programmingHMI design/programmingProblem solving/troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systemsAdvanced I&E knowledge and skillsetAllen Bradly-RS Logix 5000/Studio 5000

    Preferred Experience in the following areas:

    Project ManagementOil and GasSCADA programmingProblem solving/troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systemsElectrical system standards and safety standards

    Beneficial Skills:
    Ignition SCADA, Industrial communication networks, CIP/Ethernet IP communications protocols, MODBUS protocol, CANbus protocol, Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal, FactoryTalk View Studio, Cybersecurity and Industrial Network Design
