- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring.
- Provide patient education on various health topics.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and triaging patients via phone.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical assistant program or certification as a medical assistant. (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care.
- Proficiency in medical administrative support tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining records.
- Ability to accurately take and record vital signs.
- Experience with medication administration under the direction of healthcare providers.
