We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

TITLE Childcare Teacher

SALARY From $37,440 To $45,760 Annually

CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Exempt

LOCATION On Site Only - Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA

SCHEDULE Monday

  • Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

About the Position


The Childcare Teacher works under the supervision of the Senior Director of Behavioral Health to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.

As a Childcare Teacher you will be responsible for promoting children's physical, emotional and social development through prepared evidenced based curriculum and assessments and creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.

You will be responsible for effective and efficient delivery of services to all children, clients, and volunteers.

This position is responsible for the safety and security of children and the facility, as well as the supervision of all children.


You'll be responsible for

  • Has the ability to manage large and small groups of children.
  • Promote school readiness through early education and care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress.
  • Communicate with compassion and confidentiality with parents and providers.
  • Create an environment that welcomes children and parents.
  • Maintain a clean and organized childcare setting.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all children in your care.

You must have...

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of experience with children in a community setting, successful completion of Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses (12 core units). Willingness to continue professional growth opportunities and participation of onsite professional development programs.
  • Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • An incredible passion for our mission
  • Must meet all California Community Care Licensing requirements.
  • Required License/ Certifications: First Aid/CPR and TB (to be completed during hiring process)

Physical Requirements


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The physical requirements for performing the essential functions of this position require the employee to be able to:


  • Standing/walking approximately 20% and sitting 80% of the time
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to hear and respond to simple and sometimes critical messages exchanged in noisy/high traffic areas.
