THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW)**Reporting to Business Services Leadership, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of general accounting tasks in the accounting department including support to the Controller and other school personnel.


WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)**- Maintain and process financial data into an accounting system.

  • Exercise initiative and a general understanding of the rules and policies and procedures of the department.
  • Verify the accuracy of documents or records.
  • Compile data and prepare reports.
  • Maintain AR/AP filing systems.
  • Maintain and update professional knowledge of business practices and technology.
  • Ensure a friendly, teampositive attitude.
  • Exhibit a willingness to work as a vital part of the iCA team to ensure continuous improvement for students, staff and the iCA community as a whole.
  • Other duties as defined by the Supervisor or Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer) Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. May encounter outdoor elements: high (>90)/low (<60) temperatures, precipitation and/or wind. Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions. Ability to supervise/manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations. Reading detailed documentation and analyzing data sets. Writing professionally, both by hand and utilizing computer software. Speaking in public settings including making public presentations to large and small groups. Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations.- Must be able to physically work in the office and support the Business Service team. Frequency to be determined in collaboration with the supervisor.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS)**- High school diploma, preferred a minimum of 1-2 years experience in finance/accounting or closely related field.- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software. Proficiency in English and computer operating systems, and willingness to learn new platforms, Customer service and team-oriented mindset High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.- California Resident.
