- Align explicitly (say, write, do) with principal's instructional levers
- Evaluate and analyze current instructional materials that support the instructional levers
- Co-plan and co-lead differentiated instructional PD based on observed teacher needs and student data
- Oversee RTI process and outcomes, including MTSS
- Coach teachers in the instructional levers
- Provide regular feedback to teachers through one:one coaching meetings and feedback logs
- Model lessons in real time to support teacher implementation
- Co-plan with teachers to ensure lessons are focused on mastering standards and are using evidence-based practices
- Scaffold approaches to teachers based on need and outcomes
- Administer Kindergarten screenings to provide data for teachers to use in instruction
- Establish and use data-centered PLC protocols to move instruction forward
- Regularly review and analyze assessment data to help teachers differentiate, scaffold, and set goals with teachers for their students
- Review lesson plans and provide feedback
- Assist and support with classroom differentiation as needed with current curriculum materials
- Attend family nights as scheduled
- Regularly use Microsoft Office 365 or GSuite for calendaring, email communication, and accessing important documents
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership
- Current valid New York State Teaching Certificate at the elementary level
- Master's Degree in education
- Fingerprint clearance from NYS Department of Education
- Experience working in an urban school setting is preferred
- Prior experience working in a classroom

Reports To: Principal
Duration: 11-Month Position
Position Summary
The Instructional Support Coach works directly with the principal to support teachers in effective instructional practices. The person provides job-embedded instructional support through modeling, coaching, collaborative planning, mentorship, and regular feedback. The Instructional Coach will provide support in three areas:
Essential Functions
Instructional focus will depend on grade levels and student data, but a particular literacy focus will be on phonics instruction (K-2), vocabulary, comprehension, and written responses (3-5).
