    Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It's currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct—costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.

    At Assured, we provide large insurers the software solutions they need to win in a modern, technology-driven world. From self-service claim filing software to backend fraud detection, we're the engine that powers claims processing for some of the largest insurers in the world.

    The challenges we face are deep and diverse—from creating digital experiences that provide comfort and clarity to claimants at their most stressed and vulnerable to orchestrating large-scale ML-driven decision-making on billions of dollars of claims payments, life at Assured is dynamic, collaborative, and rewarding.

    We are looking for experienced backend engineers to join our growing team.

    You will...

    Own large areas of the Assured platform, from business logic to data modeling to infrastructure

    ‍ Write lots of code: Conceptualize, build, test, and ship new products and features for our customers

    Architect and implement large-scale infrastructure improvements

    Design and utilize new testing mechanisms and procedures

    Create reliable systems and high-leverage abstractions that enable faster product velocity

    Lead, mentor, and learn from other engineers on our growing team

    You have...

    Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience preferred

    Experience building and scaling high-quality products and codebases from early stages to maturity

    ‍ A strong engineering background and history of designing systems

    Not required: Specific technology or programming language background. We are relatively technology-background agnostic. We believe great engineers are great engineers, and that the technologies we use will continue to evolve with the team and challenges we face.     Launch a migration to IaC-based infrastructure that will support easy creation and destruction of unique, isolated environments for each customer

    Implement a new integration with a third-party vendor to correlate traffic light data with new insurance claims

    Design and implement a new anomaly detection system to proactively detect potential production incidents

    Build reusable test harnesses and then utilize them when developing a new product feature
