Responsibilities:
This is an in-office position that works in the credit / collection area. They will work closely with various staff members, Sales Representatives, and customers.
They will be responsible for collecting outstanding accounts receivable dollars, handling credit holds, credit approval, reviewing accounts for credit lines and providing copies of billing documents.
These transactions include but are not limited to:
- Processing requests for copies of invoices and statements.
- Handle proforma orders and follow up on payments.
- Verify discrepancies by resolving or forwarding to the appropriate department any customer billing questions on taxes, freight charges, pricing issues or receiving discrepancies.
- Strong phone etiquette skills for effective communication
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting customers.
- Review orders on overlimit or past due accounts.
- Perform yearly or periodic credit reviews of existing customers and maintain up to date resale / tax exempt certificates.
- Review single use tax exemption certificate on drop ship orders.
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
- Watch for key indicators that a customer account is falling behind, becoming delinquent.
- Provide updates or reports to Credit Manager, management team or sales representatives.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years steady work experience in a b2b credit / collections environment
- Well versed on basic accounting principles including credits, debits & percentages with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong understanding of fair credit practices, reviewing commercial credit reports. Resale / tax exempt certificates, sales tax, and nexus issues.
- Great attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience using word, excel, outlook and Epicor experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Pay:
$26.00 per hour
