- Ensure all exams are correctly ordered in HIS/RIS, charged, and tracked accurately.
- Communicate with patients before procedures, explaining risks and expected outcomes;
- Obtain complete patient history for radiologist reference.
- Enter scan data accurately.
- Conduct scans according to set protocols per organ or anatomical site.
- View images to ensure quality and review with a radiologist.
- Prepare images and compile studies for radiologist review.
- Assist and set up for procedures like amniocentesis and biopsies.
- Perform clerical tasks such as receiving orders and scheduling patients.
- Maintain and clean work area and equipment.
- Replenish supplies and stock rooms as needed.
- 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- BLS through American Heart Association.
- Breast, General US and Vascular Imaging experience.
