YOUTH ADVOCATE Non-Residential program_


Position Summary:

The Youth Advocate will be responsible for providing group and individual activities for children in the Non-Residential program.

The Youth Advocate will participate in creating age appropriate activities for children and implementing these activities as needed both in groups and 1:1.

The Youth Advocate is expected to work cooperatively with other staff in the planning and implementation of the work done with children.

Responsibilities:

• Provide childcare in groups and for individual children.
• Plan and implement weekly developmentally appropriate activities.
• Advocate for the emotional and physical wellbeing of youth.
• Integrate trauma sensitive, strengthbased perspective into all interactions and activities with children and families.
• Teach and role model nonviolent problem solving.
• Attend mandatory trainings as scheduled.
• Document and track service activities in agency database.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education:
Bachelors Degree preferred. Significant experience working with children & families in crisis may be substituted for degree.

Experience:
Experience working with children required; experience with youth survivors of domestic violence preferred.

Experience facilitating youth groups preferred.

Background in a human service program preferred.


Specialized Skills:
Computer proficiency.


Other Job Requirements:

Clean, valid driver's license and skill level consistent with agency policy.


Salary Range:
$20 - $22 per hour depending on education and experience.


Working Hours: 5 to 10 hours per week
