Job Requirements
Things you MUST possess:
Program Managers are responsible for the overall program definition, organization, and direction of short and long range plans.
This includes the responsibility for formulating, guiding, and directing the technical approach; and defining and negotiation with activity and agency personnel for necessary resources.
Establishment and control of technical milestones, schedules, budgets and costs are also essential tasks for the Program Manager.A BS degree in a managerial or technical area.
Nine years of progressively responsible civilian or military professional experience and demonstrated experience in managing and directing the efforts of diverse task teams supporting the U.S.
Navy systems being developed, modified, or supported and experience managing engineering support services task orders.A solution-oriented personality that is not only able to solve complex problems, but also explain decisions in a manner that makes sense to the rest of the team (this includes being able to speak intelligently with coders and intuitively with non-coders).
The ability to provide guidance to those that need it and take advice from those offering to give it.Like most places, we work in an Agile/SCRUM environment, so you should understand concepts such as backlog grooming, story points, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
