JOB SUMMARY
Assists Engineering Team with creating and maintaining shop and/or fab drawing files using CAD technology. Works diligently to acquire the technical knowledge necessary to become a productive member of the team.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares for and participates in project team meetings.
  • Works closely with assigned staff member to assist in completing required tasks.
  • Creates and revises drawings using CAD technology.
  • Completes all assigned work by required deadline.
  • Supports shop personnel during manufacturing of designed assemblies and components.
  • Adheres to company processes and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TASKS & ACTIVITIES

Technical Drafting

  • Learns to read and interpret architectural/structural drawings and documents to determine relevant information for assigned drawings.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement in using CAD technology.
  • Incorporates standard parts/components into assigned drawings.
  • Produces CAD drawings from sketches, drawings and/or electronic images.
  • Revises drawings based on written and/or verbal direction.

Work Management

  • Complies with all scheduling requirements in order to meet project milestones.
  • Complies with project checklist of tasks to ensure departmental consistency in workflow from start to finish.

Teamwork/Collaboration

  • Attends and contributes to project status meetings.
  • Assists Engineering Team as directed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of Architectural/Structural drawings.
  • Recognizes basic engineering and architectural principles in a variety of structures e.g., poured concrete, steel, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Identifies problems, establishes facts, collects data, draws valid conclusions to ensure the problem is solved and does not reoccur.
  • Expresses thoughts, ideas and technical information clearly as well as resolves conflict effectively.
  • Works well under the pressure of time constraints and changing expectations.
