    The Role: Manager III, Software Development and Engineering

    The Team:

  • You will be part of Data API team supporting various client facing products offering of S&P Global.   • Data API team is responsible for the design, architecture, develop, and implement API that offer users the ability to programmatically access our extensive datasets on demand in a fast, secure way. The Data API team has a broad and expert knowledge on all the Market Intelligence data domains. They foster knowledge sharing and collaboration that results in a unified strategy.
  • The Impact:

  • This is an extremely visible role as the database is the backbone of our flagship products. These products rely on data to allow our customers to find the companies, securities and markets they are interested in, to explore the relationships between entities, and to search using public identifiers (CUSIPs, ISINs, SEDOLs, Tickers, etc.). This critical backend driven data allows our users to value their portfolios, monitor market moving events, understand their risk and maintain their back-office systems.
  • As a member of the Data API Team, you will be responsible for analysis, design, architect, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have expertise with cutting edge technologies and a desire to drive change through and alignment across the enterprise. The role requires the candidate to mentor and coach developers on Agile teams and be a hands-on problem solver and developer helping to extend and manage the platforms. You will be an expert contributor and part of the S&P Market Intelligence

  • Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility with release goals. This includes understanding requirements, technical specifications, design, architecture, implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, and code management.
  • Ensure compliance through the adoption of enterprise standards and promotion of best practice / guiding principles aligned with organization standards.
  • Build and maintain the environment for speed, accuracy, consistency and 'up' time.
  • Hands-on position requiring strong analytical, architecture, development and debugging skills that includes both development and operations.
  • Design and develop efficient and scalable enterprise systems.
  • Attain in-depth Functional knowledge of application(s) supported and its dependencies.
  • Understand Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management, root cause analysis.
  • Ensure data governance principles adopted, data quality checks and data lineage implemented in each hop of the data.
  • Be in tune with emerging trends cloud technologies, microservice & Big Data.
  • Should drive and execute complex technical requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate with team members across the globe.
  • Interface with users, business analysts, product owners, quality assurance testers and other teams as needed.
  • Be a self-starter that is also an excellent team player.
  • Follow agile best practices. Experienced in working with global teams.
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, and software.
  • Work closely with cyber security team to monitor the organization's cloud policy.
  • Focus on building a team culture that is based on trust. Inspire your team member so that they focus on continuous growth.
  • What We're Looking For:

  • 12 to 15 years of work experience in Technology (application development and production support).
  • 8 + years of hands-on xxposure SQL Server, SQL optimization and related tools.
  • .Net full stack development with exposure to Microservices, AWS.
  • Very good exposure to object-oriented software development experience developing server-side components in a near real-time large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Hands on experience in SOA, with strong skills and .Net Core, C#, VC++, , Web API, WCF/SOAP, MVC, Web Services (SOAP, WCF & RESTful)
  • Hands on with IIS application server
  • Experience with Test Tools such as Postman and Fiddler so that be able to create unit Test cases, Performance testing, Load testing.
  • Good understanding of data models and data architecture
  • Experience supporting production environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Safe approaches to software development and able to put key Agile principles into practice to deliver solutions incrementally.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
