    Class Description:


The purpose of this class is to assist in the daily function of the Veterans Services Office and to assist students in all aspects of the Veterans Educational Benefits Program and knowledge of VA regulations and compliance.


Minimum Requirements:


Class Specific Essential Duties:


  • Assists with disseminating and the review of pertinent and accurate information to veteran students, service members, eligible spouses and eligible dependents on of Veterans Educational Benefit Programs.
  • Informs and educates students on the admission and enrollment processes related to VA procedures, including review of all VA regulations.
  • Serves as the liaison with all pertinent CCBC department faculty, staff and external agencies.
  • Ensures accurate completion and collection VA forms required for verification and certification.
  • Assists with utilizing and maintaining computer systems, VAONCE, Banner and other required data bases to ensure certification of accurate enrollment for programs of study.
  • Assists with the maintenance and organization of all VA Files in adherence with VA Compliance requirements.
  • Verifies class requirements, schedules, graduation status and evaluated prior college transcripts and prior credit is documented.
  • Assists with the reconciliation of student accounts to ensure proper VA Certification is completed in accordance with VA Regulations.
  • Ensures proper Debt Letter process is maintained and monitors VA Debt files to assist the VA Certifying Official.
  • Assists students with referrals to CCBC Navigators and provides other resource information as needed.
  • Completion of timely and accurate student inquiries relating to the VA Program and CCBC policies and procedures, refers and coordinates complex VA matters to VA Certifying Official.
  • Actively participates in Veteran related programs, events, outreach activities and VA training sessions.

The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).


  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute aftertax dollars and then withdraw taxfree dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pretax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) posttax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
