Summary Description


The Facility Sanitation Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that California Giant Cooling and Blueberry Packhouse maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, visitors, and customers.

The position is also responsible for general facility material and supply replenishment, waste removal scheduling, receiving, and maintaining grower supply inventories, and off-season facility maintenance projects.


Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sanitation and cleaning protocols for all areas of the facility, including production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation protocols and identify areas for improvement
  • Coordinate with cleaning staff to schedule and oversee daily cleaning activities, including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and waste removal
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels
  • Handles building equipment emergencies and communicates as the focal point between company employees and outside contractors called in to fix problems
  • Participate in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with sanitation regulations and guidelines
  • Investigate and address any sanitation issues or complaints in a timely and effective manner
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement initiatives that promote a culture of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in sanitation and hygiene to continuously improve facility sanitation protocols
  • Any requests for regional needs should be directed to the Facility Manager
  • Perform other jobrelated functions as directed by Supervisor and Manager

Qualifications

  • Forklift and/or other equipment operation experience
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions, SSOPs, GMPs, and company policies and procedures
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience with facility sanitation, maintenance and upkeep is desired
  • Basic knowledge of facility Food Safety requirements and record keeping is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to see or hear obstacles such as other moving equipment, other personnel and truck drivers working in and around the facility
  • Must be able to climb up onto and down from forklift
  • Must be able to work in Cold environments for long periods of time
