Patient Registration Associate I - Webster, United States - Highland Hospital
Description
Performs full range of duties related to processing patient information for visits which may include: reception, registration, charge capture and charge entry, appointment scheduling, medical records management and telephone management.
Responsible for accurate and timely input of collected information into the hospital information systems.- Maintains confidentiality of all patient accounts, appointments, medical records and interdepartmental issues. Focuses on displaying patientfamily centered care, upholding the ICARE Values and Promise Standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greeting all patients and visitors with the highest level of professionalism; patient check in/check out; registration of all patients into information systems; high volume of telephone calls involving triage of phone calls to the appropriate person/department; scheduling patients for appointments, tests, and procedures using hospital scheduling system; collecting demographic information; insurance verification and pre-verification; referring to financial counselor as needed; collecting co-payments; recording all copayment collections by individual insurance codes, reconciling at the end of the day; obtaining referrals as needed; provide general information to patients and their families as previously established within the department guidelines; makes all necessary referrals; assist with the completion of various forms as requested by patients or staff; performs general billing related functions; respond to patient/insurance billing questions; assist patients with completing private-pay insurance forms as capable.

Electronic Medical Record:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to navigating throughout electronic medical record to locate pertinent information as it relates to the PRA role, continuous oversight of task box, sort and route all correspondence through EMR staff messaging to clinicians in a timely manner, create and send patient letters, manage prescription refill processing and referral processing.
Respond to patient My Chart messages within 24 hours.- Participates in staff meetings as integral member of collaborative team to improve efficient delivery of quality health care to patients. Makes recommendations and assists in implementing and evaluating those recommendations agreed upon by the staff.
Pay Range:
- Pay Range: $ $22.55 Hourly
- The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience. Two (2) years previous office experience; medical office experience preferred.
