Who You Are:


Artprize is looking for a Volunteer Manager that will cultivate and manage volunteers to support programming, activations, events and operational goals at ArtPrize.

The Volunteer Manager will initiate recruitment strategies, manage databases, provide guidance through onboarding and care during tenure to cultivate engagement and ensure a rewarding volunteer experience.

This position pays $25/hour and is a seasonal opportunity expected to last from May 2024 through October 2024.

An estimate of the time requirements are below:

  • Up to 30 hours per week May

  • Up to 40 hours per week July
  • Sept 30
  • Up to 25 hours/as needed Oct
  • Oct 31

What You'll Do:


  • Oversee collection and tracking of volunteer data and documents.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of the volunteer program, its processes, policies and activities; recommend and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Develop and lead the Volunteer Leadership Team.
  • Train volunteer leadership to work cooperatively with volunteers, to provide them with effective supervision.
  • Effectively communicate program updates to volunteers.
  • Work with appropriate staff to ensure volunteers are given proper training to be safe and successful in their roles.
  • Ensure volunteer assignments provide meaningful, satisfying work reflective of the core values of ArtPrize.
  • Collect and analyze demographic and volunteer satisfaction data via annual survey.
  • Identify meaningful volunteer stories; collaborate with the Director of Communications for content.
  • Promote the volunteer program and coordinate with local businesses and volunteer networks to increase awareness and gain community support of volunteering and ArtPrize.
  • Develop and manage annual program goals and create a plan to implement them.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations and Productions, plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to show appreciation for the contributions of volunteers to ArtPrize.
  • Assist with conflict resolution involving volunteers.
  • Manage the volunteer housing program.
  • Support and collaborate with other departments as necessary.
