    Description

    All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire. As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen. And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.

    BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

    This position is responsible for performing technical clerical work in the municipal court. Work involves performing a variety of technical clerical functions which may require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of routine policies and regulations on the basis of training and knowledge gained through experience on the job. Work may involve performing duties as a lead worker to other clerical employees.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Graduation from high school or GED; 1 year of experience at the Court Clerk I level or equivalent; General clerical experience, to include cashier, computer, and customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed above. Must be a resident of Wyandotte County or willing to relocate within (12) months and possess a valid Kansas driver's license.

    Additionally, the following knowledge and skills are necessary for this position:

    Knowledge of:

    • Court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws & legal factors pertaining to the court.
    • The organization, operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court or activity to which assigned.
    • Basic office equipment and products.
    • Modern office practices and procedures
    • Basic court terminology.
    • Basic accounting and money transaction principles.
    • Basic customer service skills.
    • Basic data entry skills
    Skills:
    • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
    • Understanding and following oral and written instruction.
    • Making decision in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, ordinances, policies & procedures.
    • Maintaining a variety of complex records and preparing reports from such records.
    • Customer service.
    • Understanding and following oral and written instructions.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    Physical Requirements:

    Typically include: Reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Salary Range:

    $19.59/hr.
