Job Summary
Hearts & Bones Rescue ("HBR") is seeking a part-time Social Media Coordinator to join our passionate team, dedicated to saving the lives of shelter dogs in need and uniting them with loving adopters.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy creative tactics and campaigns via digital platforms to engage and grow our community, and further our rescue mission
- Manage all social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) including planning schedule, creating posts, monitoring, and daytoday community management
- Create, edit, and post shortform content on all platforms
- Analyze and report on metrics and impact of our digital platforms, optimizing for reach and engagement
- Recruit and oversee a teams of volunteers including:
- Social media volunteers to assist with social posts
- Photographers
- Stay up to date on the latest trends in social media, emerging technologies, and nonprofit communications
- Work will be primarily remote, with inperson attendance at events
Requirements:
- 25 years experience in the social media field
- Expert in social media strategy, trends and best practices, including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- A skilled storyteller, both through visual media and compelling copywriting, including creating and posting shortform content
- Willingness to travel to obtain content for dogs needing transport
- Strong independent work ethic, with the ability to drive strategy and accomplish tasks with little or no supervision
- Strong written communication, including the ability to write clear and compelling social posts
- A great eye for content and basic photography skills
- A customer first attitude and the ability to interact with adopters and fosters in a professional and kind manner, even in high pressure situations
- Familiarity with dog adoption and fostering
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Must love dogs We're looking for an individual dedicated to the mission of saving the lives of shelter dogs in need and finding them loving forever homes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit social media, particularly in the animal welfare space
- Ability to handle dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
- Ability to foster dogs in your home
- Video editing experience
- Basic graphic design skills
- Volunteer management experience
- Experience with Mailchimp, AirTable, website management, and/or social management
Compensation & Benefits
- 20 hours per week, flexible but weekend availability a must
