Job Description:


  • The Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the
  • Folger InstituteThe Administrative Coordinator, Folger Institute plays a critical role in the work of the Folger Institute team. The Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Institute division to keep the many projects on track, coordinate or participate in collaborative projects, and serve as an information nucleus for the division. They will be expected to develop and build positive working relationships within the department and with external stakeholders, and other departments at the Folger regularly.

Compensation:

  • This is a weeklypaid hourly position at a rate of $ per hour and a 35hour work week. This role is eligible for overtime pay over 40 hours/week.
  • Total compensation includes an extensive benefits plan, including a generous 403b contribution and match, outlined on our website

Duties:


  • Coordinates the administrative aspects of the Folger Institute's work, including scheduling, supporting online and onsite events and meetings, answering general inquiries, managing all technology involved, communicating with event leaders and participants, and when needed, arranging housing and transportation.

- in their work through various administrative and logĂ­stical assistance.
  • Assists with the creation and distribution of all Letters of Agreement or Contracts related to work done on behalf of Folger Institute.
  • Processes invoices and payments for the department and helps monitor individual project budgets and the department's budget.
  • Maintains the Folger Institute's sections of the Folger website. Includes uploading content and creating event pages on the Folger's website in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • In collaboration with Institute staff, responsible for Institute's content entry to Folger's monthly internal newsletter.
  • Coordinates the department's communication calendar and participates in the creation of our communications to mailing lists. Additionally, maintains and keeps current department databases, mailing lists, and WordFly lists.
  • Coordinates with the Communications and Marketing department on Folger Institute's social media content.
  • Coordinates annual sync of Institute data with Tessitura, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for the public, answers general inquiries about Institute programs and learning resources

Education and Experience:
B.A degree or equivalent, with a background in English, Humanities, Museum Studies, or Education desirable. At least three years of experience working in an administrative capacity is required. Prior experience working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and diverse experiences required. Demonstrated management of assigned projects, budget tracking, and administrative work required. History of responsibility over projects, tasks, and relationships

Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills needed. Ability to communicate directly and effectively with both internal staff and external stakeholders. Includes strong writing skills. Able to multi-task and juggle shifting priorities; ability to work under pressure of deadlines. Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work. Must be able to work independently and work collaboratively as part of a team; understand the importance of collaboration. Strong computer literacy and attention to detail required. Prior use of Tessitura a plus.
