WORK OBJECTIVES:


The Development Coordinator will report directly to and provides the Director of Advancement with administrative support, and supports the day-to-day efforts of the Development Department.

Primary responsibilities include completing daily data and gift entry, and ensuring that all cash gifts, stock donations, pledges, and memberships are accurately recorded in the Altru database.

The Development Coordinator will also be responsible for the acknowledgment processes within the Montpelier Foundation's Development Office.


DUTIES:


  • Tracking individual and department expenses, reimbursements, accounts payable
  • Helping arrange meetings, teleconferences, taking minutes
  • Work on various data entry and database tasks, donor record upkeep, scanning documents and uploading to appropriate donor records, etc.
  • Supports Annual Giving efforts as needed to implement special events, including but not limited to online and inperson gatherings; contacting guests, and staffing events.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daytoday gift processing activities and ensure appropriate membership levels are assigned.
  • Prepare acknowledgment and membership letters within five days of receiving a gift.
  • Perform mail merge projects for standard letters and correspondence, and assist with stewardship mailings
  • Process weekly gift reports for staff to be acknowledged and monitor progress of thank you note completion.
  • Process and prepare Montpelier's program participates (through archaeology and the Center) complimentary memberships.
  • Process Developmentrelated credit card transactions.
  • Assist with inhouse letter production and mail preparation, including solicitations, gift acknowledgement letters, donor gifts, and eventrelated mailings.
  • Monitor Development inventory, i.e., paper, envelopes, and other office supplies.
  • Provides backup for the Executive Office as needed, such as picking up the mail and processing checks.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Ability to understand and appreciate Montpelier's mission, and the important role of the Development office in supporting it.
  • Capable of maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills required, and must be able to create original correspondence, such as letters and reports.
  • Ability to effectively interact with colleagues and other departments and personnel.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills; be detail oriented; and be able to take part in more than one project simultaneously, with high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work on diverse projects under pressure, and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and without close or constant supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to direction.
  • Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and Blackbaud's RENXT.
  • Ability to effectively operate current telephone system.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working in development, donor relations, and/or communications preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and database utilization.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Acceptable background check.
